Objectives
The Sub-Acute Care Nursing Assistant Program provides the student with the ability to apply the Certified Nursing Assistant education to more complex nursing tasks and activities beyond the traditional nursing assistant role.
Program Overview and Course Description
College of Medical Arts schedules this course every three months. The program requires a total of 75 hours of instruction, consisting of 35 hours of theory conducted in the classroom and 40 hours of direct patient care in acute and sub-acute settings. All classes are taught and supervised by R.N. instructors approved by the Department of Health Services and the Bureau of Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education. The course schedule is five (5) hours per day, five (5) days per week, for three (3) weeks.
