Objectives:
The Dietary Manager Program prepares the student to become a Dietary Manager and join the national professional association called Dietary Managers Association which fosters career growth through continuing education. Successful completion of this course culminates in the student taking the examination to be recognized as a Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional (CDM, CFPP).
Career Opportunity:
Dietary Managers are trained and qualified to manage menus, food purchasing, and food preparation; and to apply nutrition principles, document nutrition information, ensure food safety, manage work teams, and much more. Working conditions may include varied hours, long days and juggling paperwork. They tend to be energetic, results-oriented problem-solvers who thrive on challenge and enjoy team work. Food service is not dependent upon economic conditions, and is growing steadily. The fast-growing segment of the market is eldercare, an area where the skills of the Certified Dietary Managers are in high demand.
Program Overview and Course Description:
This Dietary Manager program is an accelerated program for individuals with food service experience. The Dietary Manager program can be completed in as few as fourteen weeks, but students have the option to take a full year to complete the program. The program is divided into four courses:
