Nursing Assistant Program

Objectives

The Nursing Assistant Program prepares the graduate for certification by the State of California as an entry-level caregiver in a health care profession. The graduates will receive training in both theory and practical application of skills related to basic patient care.


Career Opportunity

After passing the State Exam, graduates will become Certified Nursing Assistants (C.N.A.s) and may find employment in nursing homes, home health care agencies, long-term care facilities, medical offices, outpatient clinics, clinical labs and numerous other health care facilities.

Program Overview

  • Classes are offered throughout the year. 
  • Program is divided into 16 modules. 
  • Flexible Part Time Schedules.
  • CMA maintains a 15 to 1 student/teacher ratio in class and clinical settings.
  • Emphasis is placed on:
    •  Patients' rights, legal issues, communication, documentation, safety and the utilization of basic nursing procedures.
